What I have in mind is:[p]an 8ft wide by 6ft. deep covered cooking area[p]three walls constructed of lattice[p]open facing the patio with a 3ft wide serving counter[p]2 large eggs built into an 8ft. long counter[p]side storeage on both sides[p]an outdoor sink is an option [p]Does anyone have any pics of something similar?[p]We're thinking of concrete counters. Has anyone used these with eggs?[p]Contractor was over this morning - any thoughts or pics would be welcome.[p]Thanks,[p]eddy-turn

bobbyb,
Wow, this is some serious stuff. It looks like a greenhouse from the outside. I bet people are surprised when they find out it's not![p]Are those turkey fryers?[p]Gwen

SSN686,
Day-em, you have a phony greenhouse too! I LOVE your floor. If I didn't love my greenhouse to death, I would clear it all out and turn it into a BGE shrine.[p]Gwen

bobbyb,[p]this is very cool - i like the screened in idea. also, the canoe - one of my early addictions - still have 4 canoes decorating the garage and landscape.[p]pretty sure that we will end up a little bigger than posted but can't be as large as your cook's palace.[p]thanks for the input,[p]eddy-turn[p]

eddy-turn,[p]Here is what we built (wife & me)
The fan is an outdoor fan.
The TV is a regular everyday TV, it has been in the same spot for 5 years, without missing a beat.[p]

Dimple's Mom,
Actually, brewing equipment.

QPete,
Very nice. I like the wind vane, and the counter. May I ask what the columns are made of?
Bob
-
bobbyb,
The columns were made with a home-made form of 8" pvc pipe.
They were pured one at a time. Inside there is 2 pieces of re-bar and a "J" bolt on top to secure the header.
Ech column takes 6, 60lb bags of concrete.
After each column cures the form is removed and stucko is applied.

QPete,
Thanks for the info. Looks like that baby isn't going anywhere. I like the looks of your cook center.

Morning Dimple's Mom:[p]Don't be confused by the picture, that is screening not glass in those panels. Florida is too hot to have anything else![p]Have a GREAT day!

SSN686,[p]Lots of space is great and also very open. Are those screens or some kind of window material? Very functional and comfortable - you obviously thought this out.[p]thanks,[p]eddy-turn

TheStormyDog,[p]i found your pic through your profile - very elegant and user friendly. liked the chandelier (sp). also enjoyed the SUV on the patio.... You must have a lot of space and really enjoy cooking.[p]this will help us[p]thanks,[p]eddy-turn

Lab Rat,
What I really like about your setup is that the Eggs are not stuck in a hole. You have full access in case they need some tinkering.

SSN686,
What are your cabinets made out of? Are they made from some composite material? Love the acid wash floot, thinking about doing that to mine, did you do that or contractor? Was there a lot involved on the acid wash? TIA.

Lab Rat,[p]This, in many ways is what i have in mind - but with a roof over the cooking area. Almost exactly what we want![p]thanks for the help,[p]eddy-turn
