I bought several pounds of Kings crab legs and I'd like to grill them on the egg. Does anyone have a good method for this? I'd hate to ruin them since they are a little pricey.

  • Woodbutcher,[p]I've done them several times, on the egg and off.[p]For the on the egg, you want to do them direct, about 325 dome, and the prep is the most important thing. You need to split them in half lengthwise, then coat them (shell side and meat side) with melted butter (I like to season the butter with sage and rosemary, but some people don't like that) and sprinkle with a generous amount of breadcrumbs.[p]Grill shell side down until they are just hot and baste with the butter semi regularly.[p]It's important to remember that they are already cooked so they are easy to dry out... and you are grilling/broiling, not smoking. Smoked king crab legs are NASTY. Some prefer to grill them without splitting them down the length, but I like them split.[p]Though, Personally, I'm a purist and I prefer them steamed.
  • Superglide,
Thanks, I'll give it a try. I'll try to get some photo's.
