turkey thighs

I noticed in the Kroger the other day that they now sell turkey thighs only and that the things are exceedingly cheap. I bought 4 thighs, each as big as a good-sized chicken breast. I cooked them up indirect at around 275 for close on to two hours with a strong hickory smoke. Results were excellent.[p]The point of the post is not to give a recipe but to tell you that that total cost of the meat was about 4 bucks. It fed three adults and a child with a fairly large appetite, and left enough behind to feed them all again twice.[p]

hounddog, around here turkey wings are usually very cheap also. You get a LOT of meat for the money, and you can feed lots of people for very little and it tastes great. Of course with garlic, onion, salt, stock, and peppers you could probably make shoe leather taste good! :) If anyone hasn't cooked up some turkey wings, they should get some and try them, lots of good meat, and the price is usually very low.
