Hi!
We got a Big Green Egg for a wedding gift and we want to cook a Fresh 20 pound turkey for Thanksgiving.[p]How long should we cook it and at what temperature?
We want to practice cooking a 12 pounder in a week or two.

Susan,[p]Congrats on the wedding and welcome to the forum! Many greats Egg chefs should be chiming in shortly. Many of us have found allowing 15 minutes per pound at 325-350* brings out the best in a turkey using pecan as firespice. Look for breast meat temps of about 160* and 175* in the thighs. Also consider brining the bird which will all but guarantee juiciness and perfection. A Polder or clone remote thermometer would be a great wedding gift from each other to the two of you.[p]K~G
