My thoughts about Eggtoberfest 2001

I have been on the forum since the first eggfest started, but I never
made it untill this year (the 4th) so I will tell my views
for those who couldn't make it. Just remember that these are my opinions but I think most of those who were there would agree.
The weather was perfect! No Agruments.
There was a huge variety of food, free beverages, lots of conversations and a really great sharing of food and recipes and the preparation of how it was made. The location at the 57th fighter squadron was really something to see, especially if you watch old WWII movies .
I sampled some great foods, met many friends face to face for the first time and downed some of JJ's famed mint juleps. (which btw are all they are cracked up to be ).
So for all of you people sitting on the fence as I was, I say if you want to have a good time, eat well, and may just possibly learn something too, try planning on coming to the next one. I know I am.
I will post some pictures as soon as I can.
Thanks for listening,
ChefRD

Mop,
About 30 EGGs were cooking.
-
Mop, I should have counted but I didn't, seemed like something like 20? they were like on 2 or 3 terraces?? type parts of the grounds.

ChefRD

JJ, that quite a few, the most so far??[p]Mop!

MOp, JJ is probably right, like i said, I DID NOT count as I had no reason too. Didn't know there would be a quiz afterwards . I always find out the rules too late

Mop,
Eggfest was held in Waldorf, MD on the last Saturday in April, the last two years. I don't know if a date has been announced for Eggfest 2002, but April 27 is a safe bet.

YB, Thanks Larry, the feeling is mutual. Meeting you and Kaye in person was very enjoyable and we are looking forward to seeing you guys again, along with JJ and Kathy. You guys made us feel welcome and part of the crowd even though it was our first visit, and for that, we thank you.
So all you newbie lurkers (you know who you are ),
If you can go next year do it, I'm sure you won't regret it.
