ELK Steak Wrap-up

Well, Friday Night saw the ELK steaks hit the egg. I had them marinating in Andreas sauce for about 30 hours and I grilled them direct at about 350. The time was about 6-7 minutes a side, no dwell at all as I had to cut the steaks into three pieces to get them on my medium and grill them separately. They were AMAZING. I swear that if they sold Elk steaks in the grocery store I'd buy that over beef. The meat was tender, absolutely no gamey smell or taste at all, and the flavor was out of this world. It was much more flavorful than beef. Overall a great treat. I had invited over a couple of friends, 4 of us total, and we went through what was about 5 pounds of elk steaks, nothing was left over except s potato and some salad.[p]If anyone ever gets a chance to try Elk steak, definitely do it, its a real treat. Thanks again for all of the great cooking suggestions.[p]Troy
