thirdeye,
Put them in a pot and boil for about eight minutes.
When they cool down slice the top and scoop oput the flesh.
Coarsley chop the flesh.[p]I like to stuff things like
onion,celery,peppers,garlic [p]some cayenne,thyme,black pepper,oregano,basil,sage.grated parma.
Saute'onion, celery, pepperstill soft add garlic diced squash, and seasonings and cook for another 2 minutes.
Have Egg at 375 indirect and bake for about twenty minutes.Don't be afraid to over stuff them

<p />thirdeye,

They must look great growing in the garden, will have to try them next year. We grew a lot of Butternuts this year, we stuff them with about anything we can think of and they are always good on the egg.
It has been so dry here in Central Ma. that our garden is about done, we will try and keep a few things going into the Fall. My rain barrels have been empty for weeks.

thirdeye,
Now, if you could only get the lemongrass to co-operate. LOL

thirdeye,
This is just about my most favorite squash to eat. I like it real simple. I scrape the outside off the squash and then chop it up. I saute some chopped onion in butter, add the chopped squash and saute just a minute or two in the butter and onion then add a little sugar and a small amount of water to cover the squash....simmer until tender....yuummmm It amazes me how many people do not know about Patty Pan squash...wow..what they are missing...

Thanks for the tips....[p]Tonight, I did a slightly modified version of your basic fried corn. I started with cubes of squash and onion, sauteed them, then removed them while I fried the bacon, then added it back into onion, garlic and corn once it was 2/3 ready. Everythig finished about the same time. Really goooooood. [p]Next will be a stuffed one.[p]Still open for any other ideas......[p]~thirdeye~
