Oak Lump

Was in the BGE store here in Atlanta today and they had "100% Pure Oak Lump". Anyone ever used any? I took the bait and bought a bag, would appreciate any pointers.

Mark,[p]I've never used oak lump, but I used to live in Minnesota, where oak was used for everything. Sadly, people used to bulldoze oak trees to clear pasture! Lots of easy firewood though.[p]Oak is a real heavy hardwood with no resin. It should burn for a long time, i.e., it should be good for roasts. I doubt you'll be able to get a lot of heat from it, but I could be wrong.[p]Let the forum know the results.[p]Jim
