I have some clients with their wives coming for dinner and drinks tomorrow afternoon so I went to the city and picked up 20lbs of King Crab legs. I'm also doing Back Ribs and T-Bones on the egg. [p]My question is: Can you do crab legs on the egg? Should I wrap in foil? Ive never did them before.[p]Cheers,[p]

Bructer,
absolutely![p]they're already cooked so you just have to heat them up towards the end of your other cooking... maybe 10-20 minutes tops at 325

Rick's Tropical Delight,[p]One more question......should I thaw and soak in water first or just gently chuck em on?[p]

Bructer,
there are guys from alaska that say never cook king crab legs on the egg.
huh?[p]i cook everything on the egg!

• Bructer,
hmmmm... good question and i knew you were gonna ask that.[p]those huge legs up there in my first post were thawed at the store and reportedly never frozen, but flown in freshly cooked from dutch harbor to the select grocery here in town.[p]those others with the salmon were frozen when i bought them and i think i let them sit out for a bit before tossing them on. i think you could just toss them frozen and adjust your cooking time accordingly.

Rick's Tropical Delight,
I am deffintly lookin YOU up at Bristol!!

• Bructer,
I have done them by cutting the legs from top to bottom and then 325 to 350 for about 10-12 min. put EVOO on the legs.

• Carbonizer,
hehehehehe[p]i can show you exactly where my rv will be on the aerial.[p]i just found out we pick up our 4th person in knoxville on the way down and he gets FREE BEER! hahaha

i have done them direct and indirect didn't seem to make much diffrence in taste..[p]as said previously they are mostly all cooked in alaska and all you do is heat them up..[p]alton brown actually cooked them in the microwave in his crab leg show.[p]

Rick's Tropical Delight,
i guess that's one of the pros of living in alaska [p]but one of the cons is in the winter she has to thaw those same cats to feed them [p]LOL!!![p]happy eggin

Bructer,
if you decide to put your butter in a little cast iron pot and warm it up with the egg make sure you don't put on at the same time.
i did and ended up burning the butter (not too good)[p]happy eggin

BENTE,
i moded the dfmt by grinding down the tab to about half height so this little skillet would sit on the three tabs and remain level like. *grin*[p]this photo was a few days before the daisey wheel met the bench grinder[p][p]

BENTE,
These clients of mine are government employees and are not suppose to accept gratuity. It's my way getting them out of the city for the evening and saying "thank you". [p]
Cheers,

• Bructer,
hey... if i was a government employee... would you send me a side of beef?

Rick's Tropical Delight,
that photo looks scarey i would proabably drop it..[p]i don't think i will allow my self to put a grinding wheel anywhere near my egg. i used to replace gaskets with a little cordless dremmell but all that changed when i got my MAPP torch..[p]
