Butt questions

I fairly new to the egg, less than a year. There seems to be lots of talk about cooking a butt. In the past, I have only thrown one in a crock pot, cooked it down, shredded it for bbq. How would you served one off the egg? Would you cut peices like a spiral ham? Thanks in advance...

wardster,
Basically you rip the thing into shreds, discarding any chunks of fat. This can be done with a pair of forks, or firmeman's gloves. Serve on a plain white bun with slaw and your favorite Qsauce.
Cheers!

wardster,[p] Like NB said, instead of throwing it into the crock pot, cooking it down and shredding it, you throw it in the BGE with smoking wood, cook it down and shred it. Slow smoked butt is quite an improvement over the crock pot variety but takes longer to cook.[p]MikeO

wardster,[p]Here a link to pulled pork made on the Egg. Well worth the extra time.[p]Spin

wardster,
The wife & i argued about how to serve it the night we had guests over. she thought we ought not shred it so, we just cut it much like one would cut ham. It was extremely good and just melted in your mouth. Good luck any way you may want to have it and by all means enjoy it.
