Should I freeze a flank steak then defrost it and marinate it or marinate it and freeze it?

Aunt Equated,[p]Freeze it first. Freezing does nothing for the Marinade.

Aunt Equated,[p]I've done it both ways. Frequently I'll put a rub on a flank and then freeze it so when I go to cook it, it's totally ready to toss on. I've also frozen it with some soy/teriyaki type marinades and although it doesn't seem to do anything helpful, it doesn't seem to much harmful either. I get the flanks at Costco and they come 2-to-a-pack so it is handy just to get the rubbing or marinade or whatever prepped and do both. After all this diatribe..do whatever is easier for you.[p]mShark
  • Aunt Equated,
Freeze first and defrost before you marinate.
Here is another flank steak idea for you.
Slit your steak and grill it about half the
time that you usually cook it, then finish it
in a foil pan, covered with your favorite salsa.
Use real salsa, not the one from NEW YORK CITY!
