Kind of a slow day today.I was in the mood for a tuna sandwich and noticed I had sliced in a jar or fresh. Then I thought will this be ok in a tuna sammich?Do not want to waste a big can of solid white.Any opinions?

    Darnoc,
I think it would be good. I usually put diced tomatoes in mine along with some sweet relish or diced pickles and a little pickle juice. Chopped hard-boiled eggs, garlic mayo and a little miracle whip. Yum yum.[p]I think the peppers would be in place of the pickles.[p]Gwen[p]

    dimplesmom,
Now my mind is starting to wander. How about a ABT with cheddar cheese then wait till it cools down and sneak in a little tuna spread.? I have nevewr tried the pickle juice or relish before but I think I had a Subway sub with cheese and pickle that tasted good.Have to get the cleaver out and chop up some peppers.Or should I roast the peppers first? This is turning out to be a heck of a lot of work for a plain old tuna sandwich. But it is fun to experiment.

    Darnoc,
I was thinking the peppers being roasted would be a great addition too.[p]Gwen

    Darnoc,
I use a fresh jalapeno per 6oz. can of tuna and low fat mayo to taste and then fresh Italian parsley. been making it that way for years.

    Darnoc,
    That's not a roast beef sandwich - that's a steak sandwich. Silly boy![p]Gwen

    Darnoc,
When you get in the mood for a fancy tuna salad, try this with Chicken of the Sea tuna in water (drained). Add one stalk of chopped celery, 3 slices of onion (chopped), one jalapeno (seedless),about one tablespoon of dill pickle relish, one tablespoon mild pepper rings, one hard-boiled egg, mayo and some Tony Chachere's seasoning....yummy....

<p />Darnoc,[p]It is a great combination. In Mexican cuisine there are several variations of fish salad, including tuna, served in halved jalapenos. Usually heavy on mayo, but very good. [p]A personal favorite of mine is to use homemade bread-and-butter jalapenos in tuna salad. It's a hot/sweet kind of thing and requires less mayo.[p]~thirdeye~
