Any good cayenne pepper ideas

Unknown
edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
I planted a few cayenne pepper plants this year too try to keep the rabbits out of the garden. This seems to have worked and now that the crop is coming up I am trying to think of what to do with all these peppers. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Take enough to fill a pint or quart jar, cut the top off and chop, dice, what ever you like. Place in jar with apple cider vinegar, little sugar, garlic, let sit in the corner of the counter for a 2-4 weeks. I use an stick blender but a regular blender will do the job. Pulse until a nice thick mixture is ready. Place in a container of some sort and use on many different things. I do an oriental version and use oriental rice vinegar, fish sauce-just a little and use like Tabasco or whatever hot sauce you like.

  • Richard,
Do you use the stick blender on the mixture before you let it sit for the 2-4 week period of after?[p]Thanks

    Retired RailRoader,
I use the stick after the waiting period. I have a little square bottle about 2 inches at the base and about 2 1/2 inches tall like many restaurants have for vnegar- gee where did mine come from- a restaurant supply store. I use it instead of Tabasco. great on greens. makes them palatable. Drop me a usps address and will send a bottle if you would lik, empty of course. hehee.

  • Richard,
    Thanks
