OT - Leftover Mahi from Thurs, Still good?

Unknown
edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
Got some alder smoked mahi fillets that I made on Thursday night. They've been in the fridge since then. Was wondering if they'd still be ok to make tacos out of for dinner tonight or If I should just toss 'em? Thanks.

    atx,
assuming your fridge is ok, there's nothing about them that would make you sick.[p]i find that smoke flavor actually seems nicer, stronger after a wait in the fridge. they may be better than the first time you had them.[p]

  • stike,
Cool. Fish tacos for me tonight then. I'll make sure to reheat the fish well. Wife's scared to eat it. More mahi for me.

    atx,
i don't understand why she'd be afraid to eat it. she'd drink milk older than that.[p]as long as you are below 40 degrees, the only thing that can happen to it is it would get moldy, or it would lose flavor (or conversely pick up off flavors) if unwrapped.[p]a ten year old roast from the freezer wouldn't be 'bad' in the sense that it'd be risky to eat, healthwise.[p]it might be freezer burnt to all hell, but unsafe, not likely.
