Flat Iron Steaks & Tator Tots

Morning All:[p]Stopped at Publix on the way home tonight hoping to pickup one of the small Tri-tips I had seen this past weekend, but alas there were none there (I knew I should have grabbed them on Saturday). There were a couple of small Flat Iron steaks and since I haven't done them before I figured "let's give it a try". One was 0.75# and the other was 0.82#. I put them on the mini, just barely fit, but did nicely. One was sprinkled with KenStone's E-Z Life and the other with his Wicked Grin. [p]
[p]The mini was chugging away at about 500 when I put them on, the temp dropped down in the low 400s for the rest of the cook. I flipped them a couple of times and they were a perfect rare to medium rare. I cut them in half so we could each sample the two different flavors. I think I preferred the E-Z Life.[p]
[p]I had put the rest of the bag of Tator Tots on one of the larges earlier and these came out the best so far.[p]
[p]The much better half also had some frozen veggie thing (some kind of broccoli/califlower/cheese thing) she stuck in the microwave for her. Total time from lighting the first Egg until we had everything eaten and the dishes washed was less than 90 minutes. A great, quick dinner.[p]Have a GREAT day!
