Cleaning your grill

After the "What I Don't Like About My BGE" thread I thought I would burn the gunk off my grill and brush it like was suggested. I had cooked chicken thighs and baked potatoes direct at 350. When the chicken was done the taters weren't quire-I finished them off at 450, then before taking them inside, I opened both vents in preparation for cleaning the grill. I thought I was only inside a minute, but when I returned the temp had cycled all the way around to 300. Don't know if that's 1100 actual temp or what-but it certainly got my attention. The grill is CLEAN though.
