Starter cubes

for some reason, Weber cubes have become hard to find. (discontinued?)[p]I purchased a case of them online last year.[p]Spacey>

Vanzo,
Get a duraflame log and use pieces of it as a starter. It works as well as the cubes and you can start a lot of cooks with one log. Gotta give credit to stike for suggesting this to me.

Vanzo, contact your local Cub Scout pack and see if they will sell you some. When my kids were in the Cubs they made firestarters out of sawdust and wax that worked pretty good. These things are so cheap that's it's hard to get excited about the price - I'm sure Amazon is about as good as any source.

Spaceman Spiff, I agree. I use to be able to find Weber cubes rather easily, even in my small hometown. But no more. Even Walmart doesn't carry them any longer.

Vanzo,
I just bought a box at Menard's. Pine Mountain brand fireplace starter( they don't smell like pine) breaking up the pieces to normal size will probably yeild 100 pieces or so. $6.49. Or look online-- Spa Oasis I believe has BGE starters. They work very well.

Vanzo,
Order the starter cubes from the mothership in Atlanta. They work just fine. I ordered 10 boxes last year and they are still going strong. Good luck, Tom
