My egg will not get above 600 degrees. I have cleaned the fire box and used new lump charcoal and the temp still will no rise above 600.[p]

Is the vent in the side of the bottom of the firebox lined up with the bottom vent of the Egg? Are you using plenty of charcoal, i.e., filled up to the top of the firebox?[p]TNW

The vent is lined up. I usually fill the bottom between the vent holes and the top of the fire box
