Making eggs on the Egg

Unknown
edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
I tried to search the archives, but, looking up egg on the BGE site just is too frustrating. Does anyone have a recipe for an egg (preferably one that leaves a soft yolk) on the Egg? I would love to do that for my mom tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

    Renee Attili,
A couple of years ago I did a class on cooking breakfast on the Egg. For the most part I used either a pizza stone to cook biscuits and quesadillas, and a cast iron griddle to cook pancakes, sausage, bacon and fried eggs. It's easy to do if you have a griddle. If not, anything round that will fit in the Egg will do (skillet, dutch oven, even a cookie sheet).[p]I did mine direct and got the temp up to what I thought would do the job. Worked out well.[p]By the way, the cast iron griddle only cost me about $10 and has more than paid for itself.[p]Spring "Breakfast Of Chickens" Chicken

  • Spring Chicken,
Thanks. Do you remember if the temp was a 500 or 375 or more like a 250 dome temp?

    Renee Attili,
Probably closer to 350°. It doesn't have to be terribly hot, just hot enough to cook without burning. Keep in mind that it should be pre-heated just like on a stove. [p]Spring "My Yoke's Still Intact" Chicken
