Wood/Heat Concerns with Egg Table

I'm in the process of building an outdoor kitchen to provide a suitable environment for my two large BGEs. I have seen the photo of the charred wood on an egg table where the egg sat and have some construction questions.[p]My plan is to have the egg table built with a treated lumber framework, then plywood, concrete backer board and ceramic tile. I have left enough vertical height to add a concrete paver on top of the tile for increased heat insulation. [p]Is this adequate to insulate the heat of the egg from the wood? Any help would be much appreciated![p]Damn, this is an expensive obsession, I mean "hobby"![p]
