I have just purchased a new medium BGE and my wife and I have have cooked on it twice and feel like we got our money's worth. One question. Our BGE was already assembled at the store. When we got it home I noticed a tiny chip next to the felt liner on the bottom section where the glazed and unglazed sections meet. Should I be concerned about it? Should this be treated with anything or left alone. The chip is only 2 MM in size.

dlmos, It should present no problem. If the location is on the outside, and you have a can of RustOleum green (I used Hunter Green) just add touch up. It will disappear. I have a quarter sized hunk out of my mini cap and I will fill this with furnace cement or a dab of high temp epoxy and repaint it. It too will disappear and not even noticed.
Tiny spots are a common thing in glazed ceramic surfaces.
Welcome to the forum and let us know if we all can help ya. We are all users of the BGE's.

dlmos, most welcome and ask for anything you need. This is your forum, and you are the reason for it.
You may have recieved a cook book with your BGE. It has good advice but for the most part, much has been updated in cooking times and temps. Ask here before you fly with one.
There are many ways to prepare your charcoal, and setups.
We try to cut the learning curve for you and soon you will be a top pro..Within weeks..Just watch..
(That is if your not already..!!):-)

dlmos,[p]As someone who just purchased a BGE a month ago, I would agree with Char-Woody about the forum and will even go one step further by recommending that you toss the cook-book that comes with the egg and rely on this forum for recipes.[p]You won't be unhappy...full and fat, but certainly not unhappy [p]-Viv

dlmos, Another new BGE owner. This is great, hope we can help and look forward to some of your recipes. Char-Woody will always be there and gives great advice especially if you go cooking with firebricks. Make sure you fill out the visitor profiles so we know a little bit about you.[p]CWM

dlmos, Welcome fellow new owner/Egger! Ain't it great! Best advice I can offer is check in here frequently, recipe section especially, and - watch yourself! (I was having so much fun with my large, I went right out within a month and bought a small so I could cook meals for two.) :-)
