Has anyone used a baking disk while baking a pizza on the egg? If you have please give me your opinion of the results. Thank you.

Fireball,

Fireball, I use a deep dish ceramic Pizza dish. If you mean a pyrex type baking dish, I cannot help ya. I don't think that would enhance a pizza as the pizza dough likes the more porous surface of ceramic or clay. Ceramic in case its used in the BGE.. I knew you knew that, but others might wonder.
Hope this helps..

Fireball:[p]Unless you have a temperature control problem I think they are wasted money. The following are links to some Internet retailers of screens and disks:[p]http://www.abestkitchen.com/store/pizza.html[p]http://www.pizzatools.com/tour/QD_sc.htm

This is th set up that you need. A Plate setter and a pizza stone.

Fireball,[p]Over a year ago many of us here were tring to perfect deep-dish pizza in ceramic dishes. I tried an iron skillet with poor results too. We all pretty much gave up. They worked but the results came out like a really thick crust on pizza, not the greasy, chewy fried like crust like deep-dish should have. If you try and get good results, tell me how.[p]Tim

Zip,
Thanks. How long should I let the crust proof before I add the toppings? I never knew one should proof it. Thank you again
