Hi All,[p]I could use some suggestions for grilling cod. I picked up a 1# fillet today along with some sea scallops and morel mushrooms.[p]For dinner tonight we are gonna do:
Celtic Wolfs Orange/coconut/rum seared scallops
Skillet fried morels in butter
Hash brown potatoes
7 grain bread
snap peas
Whiskey sours and....
Grilled cod. I need a good recipe for the cod. I could do like cedar plank salmon or ????[p]I have not done any cod on the egg.[p]What have you done with cod on the egg that you like?[p]Thanks in advance.[p]Gary

  • Gary,
I usually deep fry cod but I've also done it on a ceramic
cooker. Dredge the cod in some flour, shake off
the excess, then dredge through an egg wash. From there,
dredge it through some seasoned Panko (Japanese bread crumbs).
Put the coated fish in the fridge for about 1/2 to 1 hour
and let it chill. Fire up the cooker and use a cast iron
skillet or plate on the main grid. Put a little oil in the
skillet and when it smokes, put your fish on it. It gets a
nice crispy, brown crust. Serve with slaw, and potato
    pancakes. Very Tasty.[p]

    Gary,
Back in 1990 when I was in college the cafeteria served "Scrod Cod" once a week.
It was the laughing stock of the student body.
You brought back a 17 year old memory.

Gary,[p]I am not a big fish eater so I cannot offer any help.[p]But to think that you stumped everybody; well, that's pretty impressive. Maybe you should have thrown in something about your gasket?[p]Your menu does sounds good.[p]Hope it all works out.

I'm in a little shock since there was only one recipe for the cod. I'll do that one as it sounds good to me. I might have to increase the whiskey sours.[p]Thanks everyone for thinking about this, even if you didn't have a recipe.[p]Gary
