BIG PAT,
Try this. I used it at the Egg-by-the-Bay last year.

BIG PAT,
Indirect at 250 till it get to 125, pull it off and let it rest 15 minutes while the egg comes to 600 or so for searing, the rest is up to you

Morro Bay Rich,[p]That's the recipe I used on my first and only tri tip cook.... except that I seared it a little lower and didn't remove it while dropping the temp to around 400.[p]The basting sauce is VERY good.[p]Sliced it and served in soft tacos with pico de gallo, fresh avacado and other fixings.[p]One of my favorite cooks so far.

BIG PAT,[p]I like to do it anywhere from 350-400 direct till it hits whatever temp you like. I usually take it off at 140 as the wife doesn't like it too rare. I usually turn it every 10 minutes or so[p]Howard
