Best Pizza Sauce recipe?

Unknown
edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
I made pizza the other day on my egg and it was okay. I tried the sauce recipe listed on the website. It was really good. Any ideas on a sauce for a deep-dish/Chicago style?[p]Thanks!

Chicago style pizza uses a cooked sauce. So most of the time I take a large can of plum toms and smash them by hand, put in a pot add a 15 oz can of tom sauce...cook down a while. Depending on the taste ...I might add a little salt or sugar...[p]Then add some oregano, basil, ..red pepper flakes...and simmer some more..[p]Chicago style sauces is more about being a little thick so that it won't soak the crust...[p]1 large can of plum toms
1 14.5-15 oz can of toms sauce
    cook down [p]Add
    1 Tb fresh Basil
    1 t oregano
salt to taste[p]sugar if needed[p]cooks some more. [p]
