Circular drip pans
Comments
-
topper9,[p]I have a medium egg and use disposable pie tins. I have put a bigger sheet of aluminum foil in it to make to the full size of the plate setter. Doesn't keep off 100% of the drippings, but pretty darn close.
-
topper9,
I use a deep dish pizza pan and line it with foil for easy
clean up. Works great.
-
topper9,
I take a sheet of wide heavy duty foil torn off to make a square, fold the four corners in toward the center, about 6", then working at the outer edge form a half inch high lip. With a little practice you can make a nice circular disposable drip pan. -RP

John F.,
Thanks guys...i never thought of the pie pans
-
topper9,
yes - I use a 11" diameter shallow round cake pan for sitting on my inverted plate setter. Works great - and I too put a sheet of foil on the bottom to ease cleanup.

topper9, when I have an item longer than a large disposable pan, I place a small disposable pan (I think it is about 5X7) at the end of the large pan.
-
topper9,
If you do not expect a large amount of drippings try the disposeable pizza pans. They have worked well for me.

topper9,
i use my paella pan in the egg more than any other pan. i use it as a drip pan , pizza pan, casserole pan, for pies, and even paellas. 13,5 inch is the one i have, but others have the 14 inch size. its a very practical pan for an egg.
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
YB, I use 15" round ones in my large BGEs. I cover with a layer of foil and then a large square on top of that. I hate cleaning those things! JCA

topper9,
disposeable pizza pans from the local market pan section

The dog food section of
wal-Mart sells aluminum dog food pans that fit perfectly, are heavy duty, and only cost about $3.00

topper9,
I bought a round metal pan at a resturant supply store for just a few dollars. It is problably a large round cake pan. It just about the same size as the round part of the large plate setter. I generally line it with HD foil for easy clean up.[p]I also make my own drip pans out of the large size HD foil sometimes. I rip out two squares of foil and then shift one, so now you have a six pointed star. Then form up the sides into a round pan shape.[p]Resturant supply stores are also good for picking up pizza peels, pizza screens, tongs, etc. [p]Smoke 'n Things

Try cake pans. I bought a 10" one at Meijers and a 14" one at Michaels.

topper9,
Just in case you have/get an XL, you might want to get one
of these all purpose "deflectors, catch pans, cooking pans,
etc."[p]https://secure.lodgemfg.com/storefront/product1.asp?menu=logic&idProduct=3931

K_sqrd,
The link does not appear to work. Sorry! You'll have to do a

I make my own drip pans with a sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil....Just take a fairly big piece....use your imagination...and you'll easily make your own drip pan by rolling up the edges....And when the cook is over and the egg cools...you just throw it away....No fuss....No muss....[p]Don't know how cost effective it is....and don't care....[p]Ed McLean
