Hi All,
Could not help myself, the mini has just arrived. She is as cute as can be. Can't wait to try her out, right now I'm doing my first baby back ribs. Just a few spices and some Jack daniels chips and two pieces of pecan. Cooking at about 240, and a six pack for time

hope that sounds about right. hehehe.
Hope all of you that are going to "Eggfest" have a great time.

New Bob, You're six packs must be larger containers than mine. Never tried the Jack Daniels chips, let me know how you like the taste. I had some bourbon marinated ribs in Jax. and I really didn't like the taste.[p]CWM

Car Wash Mike:[p]I really like the Jack Daniel's chips. Excellent with butts or ribs . . . They are made for pork. Fills the air with a nice aroma. Not something you may want to try with birds or fish though, too heavy for those kind of cooks.

Car Wash Mike,[p]I'm also a big fan of Jack Daniels chips. They will add a distinct sweetness to the cook. Also just got my hands on a bag of Tabasco barrel chips and a blend of the two is a dynamite combination for pork IMHO.[p]K~H

    Car Wash Mike,
Unforunately I overcooked them, they were a little on the dry side, will have to try again. The smoke had a real nice aroma but with the ribs being on the dry side it was hard to tell. Maybe I will try the next one without any chips so I can compare the two.

djm5x9,[p]Have you tried the Jack Daniels chips with Salmon? I really like that combo, but don't know that I'd care much for it on white fish.[p]Jethro

Jethro:[p]I have tried a light smoking of salmon with the JD chips. I like it, but think most folks would find it too heavy.[p]You may want to try sugar maple or pecan with fish if you have not already.
