Mini daisy wheel

Hi,
I just ordered a mini, factory price of 139.95 plus $50 shipping. (ouch) Do I really need to get the daisy wheel????? I do have my slide top for the large, maybe I could shim it with a fire proof material for occasional use. They will shipped tomorrow, so if I want one, I need to call them back ASAP to have it included with the order. Thanks for your input.

New Bob, I have a small slider top that was made for the old original Japanese hibatchi imported cookers. (very much like the small BGE) I might try that on my Mini to see how it fits and let ya know.
In reality...find a small thin ceramic brick and it will do the same job..I found a box of thin bricks 1/4" thick in the BBQ supplies at Lowes Home improvement center. Or make a top similar to YB's home brew..He did a excellent job. E.mail him for more ideas.

Char-Woody,
Thanks for your very quick input. I was hoping that I could work around it. I'm looking forward to being "Multi Egged"
Cheers to ya,
New Bob[p]P.S. A nice 92 degrees here today. If I put the large in the sun I probably won't need any lump except for flavor.

New Bob,
I control temps in all my EGGs by using just the bottom vent and not using any type of top vent.

C~W,
Nope, I'm in Arizona, just outside of Phoenix. The low tonight will be about 67 or so. My hat is off to all of you that may be having some real hard weather.

New Bob,[p] I don't think you are going to find a daisy wheel for the mini, that is, unless you make one yourself. I have a mini and will pick up another at Eggfest next weeek, and have yet to see a top, other that the ceramic one that comes with the unit. See the top that Y.B has come up with, not a bad idea.[p]Earl

Here is the picture of the slide top i made for the mini out of a cap that protects the valve on a oxygen bottle. The other one Bill Wise made out of a large tuna can.[p]Larry

JJ, I have never needed a top for the mini either. It just took some practise and patience. JCA
