Hey - Gonna do some Babybacks this afternoon; was planning on hickory & apple for smoke, but did I hear tell about some folks using corn cobs for smoke? Thanx - ERIC

  • E.B.,[p] Never tried it, but I did find some sites that sell corn cob chips for smoking. They claim it adds a mellow, sweet flavor . . .[p]MikeO
  • MikeO, Makes sense - must be a reason corn cob pipes have been around so long - ERIC

I know I shouldn't say this, but sitting here in the middle of the nite,(usually C~Ws the only other live body still 'putin' this time of day), the old mind thinks up weird stuff, some say that your life goes around in circles, when you get back where you started, get off.Untill tonight I didn't believe it,now I might! The circle started many years ago: we used to cook in the house and go to the outhouse outside: now we cook outside and go to the outhouse inside: now to complete the circle, the corn cobs that used to be outside in the outhouse,is now doing the cookin':-)) MAN!!IT MUST BE LATE>G-niteC~W..Bob

Hey - My grandfather (Hans Heinrich) scrabbled out a little dirt farm in Alvord, Iowa, in der alte Tagen; my dad grew up plowin' behind a 5 horse team, & mom was a Davenport girl - gene pool may have wound up in the Alleghenies, but if I need corn cobs, all I gotta do is prick my finger - it's in the blood...ERIC
