Smoked Almonds

I saw a post awhile back for smoked almonds.Does anyone have a link to it or any suggestions on time,and temp.Thanks in advance.

  • Vents, yup, been there, done that. I spayed them with olive oil in Mr Misto and sprinkled on some garlic salt while still moist. Spread them on a screen thing (used to keep grease from spreading in a fry pan) and then hit with heavy hickory smoke at a low 200° for about an hour. I also did a "control batch" of just plain and they were fine too. Depending upon how you're going to use them I found those which were broken or had the brown chipped some way absorbed the smoke far better and tasted better. As soon as you get the method down then graduate to smoking queen size olives and you won't go back to nuts for a killer snack!

    Thanks for your response.I'm almost tempted to skip the almonds and go for the olives!I just happen to have a splatter screen which will convert nicely for both operations.
