New Thermometer

Recently, I saw a post by TimM stating that BGE has finally come up with a new/improved thermometer. My local dealer still carries the second one with the plastic cover. Is the new thermometer available yet (perhaps from Atlanta)? If not, any idea how long before it is? Thanks.

<p />PRobinson,[p]The new one is being introduced in new stock so it might be awhile before it shows up everywhere. I would not worry about the plastic covered thermometer as long as you add a simple spacer to get the thermometer face away from the Egg dome. The added distance will keep the plastic face from getting hot and deforming.
You can see the moisture that got into this one before i learned that trick. I still use my plastic faced ones - albeit with a spacer.[p]
