In my quest to make the infamous JJ`s rub I have stumbled on to many different websites selling spices. A friend and I purchased some of the ingredients from a local Costco, but some weren`t available there....Anyway....if you dont mind buying spices in a one pound lot of each spice...I found what seems to me to be very good prices on all kinds of spipces...hope this helps those that are searching...[p]

  • Here's another source of EXCELLENT quality. [p]http://www.worldspice.com/[p]Well worth checking out.... under BLends, see Bar-H Beef Rub-- imagine a black pepper coriander lemon peel blend- ach wunderbar!HABANERO GARLIC PEPPER is not hot, but an outstandingly good seasoning. My salt and pepper grinders have been sitting idle lately! I normally make all of my own rubs, but I don't do it as good as they do- check out BBQ RUBS section under Blends. In the Pure Red Chiles section, check out Smoked Chipotle Moritas. They are also a good source for exotic salt. Buy the blends unground, and then buy a small cheap electric coffee grinder to grind them, rough of fine, to suit you. [p]I live in a smoky neighborhood. [p]Mike

WessB,[p]I have purchased some spices on-line and been quite happy. Problem is when I need spices or anything else, I go to the store first. When I order off of the web, its not for an immediate need, just to fill or refill the pantry.[p]The link below if for Penzeys, where I have ordered spices.[p]Smokey[p]

WessB, having just purchased some coriander last night I checked your site for price comparison. It would have cost me half of what I paid for two ounces to get a pound from your source. It was 1/16 the cost. That's pretty significant. I'll give them a try.

    WessB,
Thanks for spice site,I've been ordering from americanspice.com,the spices have been good and I thought the prices were, but your site is less costly.THEREFORE!since I'm too cheap to be loyal,I'll try worldspice next order,BTW all the spice companies should be giving JJ a kickback for all the spice orders his rub has generated.Way to go JJ!!! Bamabob, I just figured out that if you bought all your supplies from this place to make JJ's Rub, it would cost you about $3.03 per pound of JJ's RUB. (That's including my own estimates for Brown Sugar and salt). Of course since you need to buy a pound of cumin it would mean that you would be making about 220 pounds of THE rub to keep the proportions right. Wonder how long it would take me to use up all of that?
