Have just received my first BGE though been selling them for a while. I need some pointers on REAL charcoal grilled shish kebabs Cypriot style. My parents were in the RAF and spent 4 years in Cyprus and I would love to reproduce the authentic kebabs they enjoyed there

  • scotchegg,[p]Try Steven Raichlen's BBQ Bible. The book has recipes from around the world from his travels. He included many kebab recipes from the mediterranean and middle east. You should be able to find something close to what you're looking for, if not dead on.

scotchegg,[p]I had to look it up, but Cyprian kabobs are called Souvlaki (learn something new every day!).[p]I found lots of recipes for them.

    scotchegg,
not sure what spices to change to make it cypriot style, but i think it would be very similar to this. if your making lamb make sure to not overcook it and dont marinate for more than 2 hours, 1 hour works great. add a little vinegar if you want to the marinade, i think it was half lemon and half oil. the meat was boneless leg of lamb. i made tebouleh salad as this was more lebanese style, you may want a real greek salad (no lettuce in greek salad)
