how long to cook a prime rib roast?

First time to cook one on the big green egg. Need to know how long and what temperature. It's nine pounds. thanks Dan M.

    Depends on the method involved....I cook Prime Rib at 350 Dome temp...indirect....And it's usually 2 to 2-1/2 hours....Depending on weight....But what's MOST important is the middle internal meat temperature....You want 140 middle roast internal meat temp...That gives you rare in the middle and more done towards the ends.....Wait at least 15 minutes before slicing.....[p]Ed McLean

    Dan,[p]We do ours exactly the same as we formerly did using the inside oven, both temp and time. I think it was something like like 22 minutes per pound (although that's purely my recollection and may be off.) Use a thermometer to check as you progress. Our prime ribs from the Egg are much more evenly cooked.
