Tomorrow is a vacation day for me, so y'all will have to put up with my giddyness this evening. Woohoo! Tonight, two big butts went on. Sorry about the title. At least I didn't follow up with ...'and you other Eggers can't deny...'. Sheesh.[p]Here they are right out of the cryo pack.
[p]Then rubbed down with oil and Raging River.
[p]Then into the sweet, sweet ceramic ovum.
[p]Purring along at 250 dome, 244 butt level.[p]Anyone else pulling an all nighter?[p]This won't be the last y'all hear from me this evening...[p]ss

SouthOfI10,
Sweet!!!!!!
Keep us posted. Look forward to seeing the out come.

SouthOfI10, I did two butts Saturday. I see you left the outer fat cap on each butt. I trim it off: thinking it makes better bark. [p]So, now I wonder if there is a preference: fat cap on or off for butts. Nice choice in beers too. T

SouthOfI10,
Yep, I'll be watching the insides of my eyelids and being p*ssed about you getting to cook butts during the week!!!
-
Sandbagger,
I agree about the beer. I don't trim too much and keep the fat side down. Helps protect it from burning on the bottom and whatever sticks to the grid is fat anyway so it don't matter. IMHO

SouthOfI10,
Make sure let everyone know how the RR was on the large butts. I have never tried it. What is sleep? Have a nice day off.[p]Mike

Sandbagger,
I haven't thought about trimming off the fat cap with butts. I do trim brisket, though. Hmmm. Next time, I feel an experiment in the works....[p]Agreed. This is good beer. Haven't seen it around Atlanta much until recently.

ronbeaux,
Heee! Today, "Santa" put together his 4 year old daughter's Barbi Jeep, had a Varsity double chili cheeseburger for lunch and has spent the evening drinking icee cold Shiner Bock and rubbing two nice butts....[p]Priceless...

SouthOfI10,
Well I'm still upset! I spent the day getting up at 0400, driving to work 55 miles away, dealing with people with no sense of humor, then coming home to a 16 year old that drowned a brand new 4 wheeler in a pond, threw on some frozen bubba burgers just to have dinner while supervising how to take it apart and clean it, and then saw your post about them two butts(and now rubbing them)....
Life is good!!

Sandbagger,
I grew up in a small town 20 miles from Shiner and in the old days they would come around about once a year and give the Bock away. No market for it in the 60s. Where O where did we go wrong?????? Popsicle
