    RTC Smoke,
I've always just fried it. Country ham is awesome. Some soak it a bit to get rid of some of the salt. I'm a salt freak so I rinse it off and fry away.

  • RTC Smoke,
I've done a few but the last one was about 6 years ago. Soak it for a couple of days (at least) and change the water 3 times each day (at least). It'll still be salty but it has fantastic flavor and texture. I didn't have an egg when I did my last one but think it would be a great way to do it. Some of my southern friends baste it with coca cola.[p]You're making me want to go out and find one of these things.[p]Paul

  • RTC Smoke,
This isn't done on the egg but it taste great.Put ham in lard can cover with water add couple of cups of molasses and apple cider vinegar or coca cola whatever you prefer.Soak for 24 hrs.Drain water brush off ham.Put ham back in.Cover with water add some molasses.Bring to a boil.Boil for 45 min. to 1 hr.DO NOT remove lid. wrap can with ham in sleeping bag let it sit another 24 hrs.Remove ham and remove fat and slice. yummy
