NB's Inspiration Chicken is Wonderful!

Subject says it all. I made Nature Boy's Inspiration Chicken last night for a Super Bowl supper and it was grand. I marinated 12 chicken thighs overnight in a double batch of marinade. The only thing I changed was that I added about a tablespoon or two of dark molasses to the recipe. Don't ask me why; I just can't seem to follow any recipe exactly. I lit the Egg in a snowstorm and got the temperature up to 400; the thighs were crowded skin-side-up on a grill above the drip pan which was set on three thin firebricks. Because the chicken was so carefully placed, I opted not to turn them. They cooked at 400 for about an hour and then I lowered the temp and let them go for another hour. When I removed them, the skin was brown but not burned; the aroma was absolutely incredible. Perfection. Tender and juicy on the inside, with the most enticing tangy flavor. My dad ate with us and could not believe how good they were; he kept saying, "Peanut butter on the chicken?" and then diving in for more. [p]Thanks, Nature Boy, for another winning recipe.[p]Cheers,
Gretl

    Gretl,
You are quite welcome. Thank you even more for that glowing review! Not even 11 am, and you already made my day. [p]Yeah, the peanut butter in the recipe probably keeps some folks from trying it (your report is the first I have heard), but it really adds some character to the final product! As you mentioned, there is something magical about the aroma when it is cooking.[p]Thanks again for the report, and glad you enjoyed it.[p]NB
