Warning about The Original Grill Pad

Hello,[p]Last week I posted a question about fire safety with a BGE on a wooden deck or under a patio roof. Thanks Mike O, Char-Woody, Jethro, Mop, Fireball, and Fingers for your helpful replies![p]I purchased an Original Grill Pad made by DiversiTech – said to “protect your deck from incidental spark exposure as well as grease, drips and stains.” Unfortunately after it rained this weekend, I learned the hard way that the Original Grill Pad stains redwood.[p]Apparently the fiber cement in the pad reacts with redwood and stains it black. Hopefully the stain won’t be so noticeable after the redwood weathers. [p]Best regards,[p]Sandra
