Tip from Eggfest for fellow newbies

I have been egging for about 5 months, and went to the fest last weekend. A tip I received was that, on the large, daisy petals wide open and the damper open the width of the ash tool will give you 350 deg. Cooked some salmon tonight, and it was dead on with that technique. I'm sure it varies some with brand of lump, etc., but it's a great starting place. Thanks to the anonymous egger who gave me that tip.
