Any Smoked Chili Recipes out There on BGE

Unknown
edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
Im going to a chili cook off for the Humane Society for a fundraiser. I was wondering if any one had some good chili recipes that can be cooked on the egg to give off that good smoked flavor. If yall could help me out I would appreciate it a lot.

  • Rogers Turf Care,
Ping KennyG and Egret, they along with a few others have some great BGE Chili ask Chubby if you Like it hot. I am still in ColdAtlanta recovering from the parties and cannot get to my database to help. Many are still traveling home. Hope this helps.

  • Rogers Turf Care,
I know you'll get a lot of help on this one and you can search the archives as well. If you cook your favorite chili recipe on the egg, on the platesetter(legs down) you can make it smoky by leaving the lid off the pot and adding smoking woods. Stir often. I think chili and mesquite are a great match.
If you really want to get a leg up on the competition, smoke the meat before you even start your chili. I have used smoked brisket and smoked chicken in different chili recipes and love it.
I have specific recipes at home that I'll add to this if many arent posted.

    Rogers Turf Care,
There are a couple of recipes in the submitted recipes section here under "sides". These would make a good starting point and then you can make any adjustments as the chili simmers.
