hey kevin, [p]i was watching some cooking show yesterday (michael chiarello sp?) . ..and he was making making a bread pudding. ...but instead of using stale french, or other traditional breads, he used. . ..ready for this. . .. stale plain cake donuts!! . ...i thought man, i'll bet that is just over the top sweet for a bread pudding. .. .gonna have to give it a try with your recipe soon. ...just thought you'd like the idea as well . ..[p]best[p]max

That could be pretty good. Now if I could only get some Beignets....man that would be good. JSlot and I were talking a while back about bread pudding and he told me of a recipe he saw using Krispy Kremes in it. Man that would send me into next week. I need to learn a sauce cause I think that would set the Bread Pudding over the top....hope all is well.[p]-Kevin

Here is one that family andfriendshave enjoyed for many years. Soon I hope to try on the egg for the flavor.[p]Bread, Pudding, Cheesey
[p]12-16 Pieces Cinnamon Raisin Bread, Day Old Better
3/4--1 Lb. Sliced Cheese, Edam, Gruyere, Creamy Havarty, or Whatever Soft Cheese You Enjoy
5-7 Eggs
3-4 Cups Milk
pinch Salt
1 Tsp. Nutmeg
1 Shot Myer's Rum (optional )
*****Sauce*****
1/4 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Water, heat the two
1 Cup Heavy Cream
1 Dash Nutmeg
1 Tbs. Butter
1 Tbs. Cornstarch
3 Ozs. Myer's Rum
1 Grease an 8x8x2 inch baking dish. Place alternate layers starting from bottom, 4 slices bread, cheese to cover, keep layering until you run outof goodies but have the top be cheese.
2 Mix everything else and pour over the top, taking a spatula around the side to allow the liquid to permeate the edges.
3 Bake in a water bath at 425°F fo 35-40 minutes. Cool 30 minutes. This may be eaten hot or cold.
*****Sauce*****
1 Mix the water and sugar in a suacepan and bring to a light boil to dissolve the sugar. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer. Pour over each portion as serves.

My favorite breakfast food. now I have a use for the leftovers.
Bread, Pudding, W/Rum Butter Sauce. Krispy Kreeme, Bill Nicholson'
[p]2 Dozen Krispy Kreme Donuts
1 14 Ozs. Can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
2 4 1/2 Ozs. Can fruit cocktail (undrained)
2 eggs, beaten
1 9 Ozs. Box Raisins
1 pinch salt
1-2 Tsps. ground cinnamon
*****Butter Rum Sauce******
1 Stick Butter
1 Lb. Box Confectioners' sugar
Rum, to taste
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2 Cube donuts into a large bowl. Pour other ingredients on top of donuts and let soak for a few minutes. Mix all ingredients together until donuts have soaked up the liquid as much as possible.
3 Bake for about 1 hour until center has jelled. Top with Butter Rum Sauce.
4 Melt butter and slowly stir in confectioners' sugar. Add rum and heat until bubbly. Pour over each serving of Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding.
Yield: 12 servings
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 1 hour
