Eggessory Quiz ~ What Will This Be?

<p />I'm playing in my workshop today making another Eggessory. Here it is un-assembled. The ring is 8" in diameter. The L pieces have legs of 1-3/8" and 5". They will be welded to the ring.[p]What do you think it will be when assembled?[p]~thirdeye~

thirdeye,[p]You can hang the legs from the dimples on the fire ring and make a shelf in the firebox. OR flip that same gizmo up and have a hanging ring for, heck I don't know, jerky or ribs, OR add some mesh and you got a lump box for the firebox.
Maybe something for the small.[p]Looks like you're digging the ring roller. I gotta go roll and weld more of them new spiders. I am going to put the new spider to the test tonight with blackened ribeyes on the bayou classic cast iron griddle. Got some new dizzy rubs callin' me too.[p]T

Is your business addy good for both UPS and US Mail?? The size of shipping tube will determine which way is best.[p]~thirdeye~

with the diameter of the ring at 8" that aout tells me it could rest directly on the metal grate on the bottom of all BGE's from small through the large and then with the 4 legs welded pointing up with the L bends on top to rest a cast iron griddle to be used as a hot, close to the fire searing apparatus that would heat quickly and sear fast.

hmmmm, then you agree that assembled the way I said would work, but that is not what you intended it to do. Well, let me try this...again the 8" would be a universal throat size if you instead turned the L bends inward and then inverted with the legs down it would sit inside the cavity of the fire box so that when the ash grate is shaken vigorously it still will not tilt thus allowing lump pieces to dump out thus filling the ash clean out with all sizes of lump necessiating a thorough clean out!

<p />Okay, here it is. I'll be giving it a test run tonight. Since I kind of threw this together, any suggestions on design mods are welcome.[p]The closest guess was from G$ (on another forum) who guessed a rack for holding barbecued cabbage. thirdeye, Well!! That's not fair. The long ends weren't sharp the first time you showd it. How bowtsa plate on the bottom to act as a heat sink. Might cook them taters even faster. I'll be a test facility.

sigmore,[p]Sorry, the beveled end came to me during the 15 minute R&D stage, Heheee. [p]Good idea. I have a stainless pie pan I use in the small for a drip pan that should work great under the ring.[p]~thirdeye~
