Just finished up with my first whole turkey. It took 2.5 hours at 325 -350 degrees. I finished with a 178 degree internal. The pop-out thingy didn't work. Juices were clear and the taste was great.
I used Wise One's recipe and brined the turkey for 24 hours. I then sprayed it with olive oil to help it brown.

orio kid,[p]Congratulations on the first of many. The commercial pop-up doneness indicators are set to pop at around 185°F. It seems the manufacturers are more concerned with lawsuits than excellent cooking results. I can't disagree with their logic.[p]Spin[p]
