Plate setter

edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
I recently purchased the plate setter for my egg. When should the plate setter be placed in the egg with the legs in an upward position and when should the legs be in the downward position. Thanks

    Roger,
I think conventional wisdom (if there is such a thing ;)) is that you put the legs up when you want something indirect on the regular grill. But when you want to raise something up in the dome (like Pizza) then you put the legs down, add a pizza stone for pizza's and then you won't burn the bottom crust.
From my experience, you will need the extra pizza stone on top to prevent burning the crust. Others will probably chime in with more answers, but if not, I hope this helps.
