I have a bunch of old grills from rusted out water smokers. They must be 13 inch, not sure, at any rate they are smaller than the 18 inch needed for the big egg. I took some left over porch screen and some old steel wire and sewed a cover onto one of these grills.[p]I then took a package of almonds from ye olde price club, stirred them in a sauce pan where i had melted a half stick of butter and about the same volume of brown sugar. [p]Then stuck it in the egg at 225 or so for a little more than an hour, stirring a couple of times.[p]Results aren't perfect yet, I think I had a little too much sugar, but[p]NOT BAD.

hounddog, here's another almond idea I like. Mist with olive oil and shake on California style garlic salt and then lay on some hickory smoke. YUM!
