A Holiday poem

Spin

T'was the night before Christmas,
And throughout the house,
Not a creature was stirring,
Only a mouse.[p]He looked to the 'net to find the best;
Only to discover, the Egg and nest.
He junped for joy, squeeked with glee,
That's it! That's it! The Egg's for me.[p]Food cooked that good, could not compare,
Competitors would not dare.
This gift the world needs,
To be fed, by the BGE.[p]The plucky rodent notifies Santa,
Stationed somewhere in Atlanta.
I'll find the lump, and the daisy wheel,
Then we'll all have a great meal.[p]Santa tries the recipes, and eats too much,
"I'm stuffed to the gills", I should blush.
Where was the Egg many years ago;
When I could easily say Ho Ho Ho?[p]The stockings are hung with great care,
Hoping to be filled with bags of lump,
Charcoal is no longer bad,
Makes the recipient very glad.[p]Now the Egg has its fuel,
Cooking meals becomes a duel.
This is the best gift of all,
Keeps giving, summer, spring, and fall.[p]Now Santa has a big problem,
To deliver presents and Eggs.
Reindeer are bulking, too much weight,
They question seriously FAA regs.[p]But Santa says, no problem here,
Fly away, fly my faithful deer.
So now the deer, Deliver the Eggs.
Forget everything. Forget the regs.[p]As Santa flys away, You hear him say,
Enjoy the Egg on this happy day.
A Merry Christmas to all.
And to all good night.[p]

And at what other time of year, than at Christmas, with all the gifts that the Christ Child bears us feeble men and women, should we be more grateful to be alive, to live in this great country with its cornucopia of food, and bounty, along with all the good people throughout the land.
