<p />nodock, very simple, just soak em for up to an hour in water, then cook direct, 350 degrees, turning every so often until the kernels become tender (press the kernels with your finger and feel them give a bit), about 45 minutes. tom

apparently cooking corn is easier than posting a picture.......

    nodock,
i usually soak them in water with a little sugar, dont remove husks or silk, it will be fine . then roast them until you can smell the corn. you dont even have to soak them, they roast just fine and iff they burn a little inside the husks they are still good. very easy and not expensive so try it both ways

you can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
  • nodock,[p]I have done corn in a myriad of ways, but my current fave is to shuck all but the final layer of husk (enough that you can "see" the corn underneath, but it is still covered. Then direct to the grill, no soak. The kernels get nicely carmelized this way, though is still a little more forgiving than putting a "naked" ear over direct heat. [p]When leaving all of the husk on, the corn steams more than roasts- which is also very tasty.
  • Carolina Caniac,[p]My preferd method is pull back husks, but not remove, and take of tassles. Once all the tassles are picked clean bring husks back up to original position and soak in cold water. Then wrap in foil and put on the grill. The cold water is supposed to bring out the sweetness of the corn...who knows. Yes you are actually steaming the corn but it is delicious this way!
  • Sandbagger,
thanks for some mighty fine opinions....seem there are 2 perferred ways to go....wet or dry....will have to try them both....thanks again...

nodock,[p]I don't soak or husk. I usually do them at 400-450 degrees for about 20 minutes. The husks char, but protect the corn from the direct heat and turn out quite well.[p]Tonia

  • nodock,
i like to carefully peel back the husk, remove the silk, rub with butter, then pull the husk back over the corn(you can even use a piece of the husk to tie around the ear to hold it in place). . . .then grill on the egg at around 350 degrees for about 20 - 25 minutes, turning often .. .good stuff. ...
