Bamabob,[p]I figured out the problem with the new auto-lock hinges. [p]If you loosen the bolts that hold the upper and lower hinges together, you will notice a slight drop in your gap in the back, but this is still not correct. If you then notice the welded upper and lower supports are touching each other without the seal being tight. Part of the upper or lower welded portion has to be ground down to meet both upper and lower seals. When you do this, you then have to re-drill the holes to match the upper and lower hinge bolt holes. My guess is the manufacturer missed the holes that join the hinges together by about .1875"/.250"[p]Hope this helps.[p]MickeyT.[p]P.S. I tried pizza last night again...................Yikes............. I just can't get the pizza to slide onto the stone...[p]

MickeyT:[p]Regarding that pizza, use a medium ground corn meal on the peel and a controled "shake" to bring the two togeather.[p]

MickeyT.,[p]The uncooked pizza will not slide on the hot stone. It will stick like glue until the crust forms.[p]The insertion technique requires setting the pie on the stone by sliding it (short jerk) off the peel.[p]Spin

    MickeyT.,
Thanks for getting back to me.We finally reached someone at the band factory and hopefully got things headed in right direction.Factory rep said that they had some new people working and bands had been made out of tolerance. They're sending 12 new ones, and say they are putting some qualit control steps in place to keep this from happening again. They were super nice about taking care of problem.Whole BGE operation is still a CLASS ACT.My next engineerin' projek is buildin' a pizza peel with little rollers on it so folks like you & me can get our crust offen it.Ain't it fun tho!Bob
