Saw a note on a message that said aluminum foil was used for cleaning and I was wondering cleaning what ?? the interior of the egg? Inside the dome ? When or why do it , ??/

bob cannon,[p]A ball of foil is like a disposable scouring pad. It will get rid of the flakey build up in the dome.[p]~thirdeye~

    bob cannon,
a word of caution - I used a ball of foil to clean my BGE brand grill extender and the chrome plating rubbed off exposing the copperplating underneath. Some nervous-nellies have gone nuts over using copper in a BGE, but it hasn't killed me in 5 years of use...OTOH maybe the use of a Rutland gasket over those years offset the copper fumes and made me "Immunity Man" LOL

I lightly crinkle a sheet, place it over the grid and let the egg 'nuke' for awhile. Don't how/why but the foil does a great job of removing crud.[p]Toy Man
