Lawn Ranger,
the hamburger is one thing I haven't cooked on my egg yet. How do you normally cook yours (direct/indirect/temps/time on grill)?????
-
Lawn Ranger,
Looks like burgers for me tonight also. Good idea.[p]Mike

Car Wash Mike, are you going to be in austin? [p]Oh ya, nice burgers lawn ranger. What LR tool do you recommend to flip them? T
-
GenesGrill,
I've done them hot and fast and lower and slower, but always direct...depends on my mood. I love 'em.[p]Mike

Sandbagger,
When burger lust is involved its a no brainer.....you need to use a "woody"....er..ummm I mean a "Char-Woody Angled Spat".

when i first got the egg, i think i went a few years without a burger or a hotdog, so many new things to try from reading this forum. then one day it hits you how much you love a hotdog or a burger and that you can do something that simple on the egg. you definately make the best looking burgers out there[p]

fishlessman,
I'm thinking this burger thing will be my inspiration for atlanta. I've been piddling around with "ham"burgers quite a bit. I'll have to branch out a bit to its beefy big brother and come up with something.[p]Eggcellent burger BTW.

jiarby,
Man! that looks great! No wonder you won.

OK, this is probably an appropriate thread to ask a really dumb newbie question. I've got the seasoning and cook time down, but I'm having trouble keeping my patties from crumbling as I cook and flip 'em. Anybody got any pointers for how you keep those little hockey pucks in one piece?
-
Lou,
you only need to flip them once, rally. if they are sticking, they aren't ready to flip.[p]the wires of the grill are so hot, they stick to raw meat. you need to let them burn the meat to the point where the wires break free and allow you to flip.[p]same for chicken, etc.[p]

Lou,
after forming the patties you can put them in the freezer for 20-30 minutes and then throw them on the grill. like stike said, there really is only 2 sides to a burger, you only need to flip once

Thank you. Makes sense. I knew it had to be something simple.
-
Lou,
make sure your meat is not too lean 80/20 is good.... that lean stuff can be crumbly depending on how they ground it
-
Sandbagger,
That would be moving weekend.[p]Mike

Lou,
biggest thing i have learned since getting the egg is to relax, and be patient
